As we have grown and developed our Ranch and learned (and learned and learned) how VITAL our role is in food production, we are also keenly aware of our role in environmental and industry standards. Many of you choose our products for taste, leanness and health benefits. Added incentives include responsible stewardship of our livestock, land & the pursuit of regenerating our slice of heaven on a hill here. Part of that regeneration is actually introduction of nutrient rich soil to an area lacking in nutrition (mostly from natural erosion) and building up the soil for the native grasses to grow. All the elements involved affect ALL food production. We don't live in a bubble or vacuum, so each direct step we take to improve THIS area does impact the ability for others to be improved as well. From run-off to pollinators to even changing the air quality, we cater to the entire planet one inch at a time. This realization has both humbled and terrified us as we move forward into learning (and learning and learning) more about the amazing affect each one of us has on this rock called home and the weight of our responsibility.
But I digress.
Back to the beef: We research and study and see the affects on both our living charges as well as our finished quality product that, in turn, affects other living beings. From dads to dogs, our beef product is an intricate part of a sustainable food system that builds & restores health (from the ground up), which in turn encourages more production. The cycle is virtually endless. This is extremely important to us as we realize little steps like timing, size, animal health, stress-levels, processor quality & even marketing strategies are part of our every day decisions. The quality of our soil determines the quality of the plant life that directly impacts the quality of our livestock, from hoof to hanging. Being aware of all the moving pieces on the board, our "plant-based protein" providers are indeed our first responsibility. Seeing them all the way from pasture to plate, our second. All along the PRIORITY being responsible for what's on your fork.
We don't sell beef; we feed families. There is no more important first step to better health than what is on the end of your fork. The minutes, hours, days behind eat bite you take are deliberate. We're not the only Ranch that provides this extraordinary nutrition, and we realize you have many options. We're not selling us. We're reaching out to connect to you. Connecting to your food sources could save your life, literally.
We are encouraged daily by many of your testimonies, comments, social media shares. There's not a single farmer out there that doesn't need to hear "atta girl/boy" from time to time. We are grateful you choose us to feed you & your families and look forward to sharing more information as we continue to learn (and learn and learn). We'll be 'meating' you soon ~ Kimberly
