Do you accept SNAP/EBT benefits?
In 2015 we were approved through a USDA program to accept SNAP/EBT benefits as an independent producer on a contract. In 2017, the contract came up for renewal and we declined, primarily due to the cost vs. usage. We DO participate in markets that accept these benefits, Market Square Farmers' Market and Winter Farmers Market, by Grow Oak Ridge.
We appreciate ALL our clientele and feel extra special when folks use their benefits for our beef. We understand the value of limited funding (many farmer's themselves on assistance programs) and do our best to accommodate those who choose to INVEST their benefits in our farm..
We are solely self-supported, meaning all the funds we generate from the production and sale of our beef & livestock is reinvested in our Ranch with no financial support from local, state and federal agencies. This encourages us to be frugal and good stewards of the funding we produce. Partnering with organizations that help us 'meat' the desires and needs of our community, regardless their financial position, is one of the better choices we can make to keep our pricing reasonable.
